VIENNA MIR 3D ROOMPACK 1
MIR 3D RoomPack 1 – Vienna Konzerthaus
The Vienna Konzerthaus is one of the largest and most established institutions in the international music business. The building set new standards in both architecture and construction technology and was considered one of the most modern in the Danube monarchy thanks to the rare style mix of historicism, secessionism and art nouveau. Since opening in 1913, there has been an open spirit towards new cultural and artistic developments, balanced with the cultivation of traditional music. Although the Wiener Konzerthaus is today considered one of the most modern concert halls in the world, the historical roots have largely been preserved thanks to responsible and sustainable handling of the architectural heritage.
MIR 3D RoomPack 1 contains no less than 11,000 impulse responses from four halls and the foyer of this unique building.
Great Hall
The large hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus with its famous Rieger organ offers space for 1,865 people on a total of 920 m². It has gained international fame as one of the best concert halls in the world and is an ideal venue for a wide variety of musical activities of all genres. The list of artists who have performed here over the past 100 years reads like a who's who of music history. MIR 3D RoomPack 1 depicts the large hall using four typical microphone positions. In addition to the stage itself, it is also possible to use the organ gallery, the so-called "Angel Choir" (approx. 17 meters above the stage), the two proscenium boxes and the balcony from three selected positions.
Mozart Hall
The Mozart Hall is described by musicians and audiences alike as one of the best chamber music halls in the world and, thanks to its unique acoustics, is one of the favorites of leading ensembles and soloists for both concerts and recordings. Its 105 m² stage and 330 m² auditorium have a capacity of approx. 700 people and offer the ideal ambience for all types of chamber music - from recitals to string quartets to chamber orchestras.
Schubert hall
With an area of 290 m² and 366 seats, the Schubert Hall is the smallest of the "classical halls" of the Vienna Konzerthaus. Due to its festive character, it represents the ideal way of the musical salon of the 19th century and is mainly used for chamber music, solo concerts, galas, receptions and lectures. Quite a few musical careers of young talents began in the Schubert Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus. Four typical hall microphone positions are available in Vienna MIR Pro 3D.
New hall
The 340 m² New Hall, also called the Berio Hall (after the Italian composer Luciano Berio), was built in the basement as part of the general renovation of the Vienna Konzerthaus from 1998 to 2001. In addition to a variable stage with movable acoustic modules and a modern light and sound system especially for electro-acoustic works, the hall also has an adjoining recording room that enables productions at the highest level. Four room microphone positions are available in Vienna MIR Pro 3D. In addition to the conventional stage set-up, selected locations on the side and rear of the auditorium are also available.
Foyer and main staircase
Although the foyer of the Wiener Konzerthaus was not originally designed as a room for concert performances, it is regularly used for special occasions such as festival openings or social events due to its magnificent acoustics with a reverberation time of 6 seconds. A total of four different microphone positions are available in Vienna MIR Pro 3D.
