SWAM GEO VIOLIN
CONTINUOUS BOW RESPONSE ACROSS ALL FOUR STRINGS
Experience sound that responds as naturally as you play. On GeoShred Studio’s multi-row pitch surface, solo violin bow dynamics, contact point, and vibrato across all four strings (G, D, A, E) respond continuously to your pressure and gesture in real time. Shape every tonal shade from a whispered sul tasto to full-projection fortissimo directly from the grid.
Works with MPE controllers, wind and breath controllers, and GeoShred Control, a free iPhone and iPad companion app that delivers a multi-touch expressive surface for live performance.
GeoViolin runs inside GeoShred Studio, with a license included for customers who do not already own one. Press into the grid to shape bow dynamics and vibrato; shift position to move the contact point from sul tasto to sul ponticello. The carrying power that makes a single violin audible over a full orchestra responds directly to what your hands do on the surface. The SWAM engine by Audio Modeling drives the underlying acoustic simulation; GeoShred’s integrated FX rack adds reverb, echo, and amp modeling as part of the signal chain throughout.

What’s Inside GeoViolin:
• Continuous pitch surface across all four strings (G, D, A, E) with portamento, glide, and slide expression built into the isomorphic layout
• Direct bow parameter control: contact point from sul tasto to sul ponticello, bow speed and pressure, vibrato depth and rate
• GeoShred’s integrated FX rack including EchoMT, Reverb, AmpCab, and additional processors available throughout performance
• MPE controller, wind and breath controller, and GeoShred Control companion app compatibility
• SWAM continuous physical modeling by Audio Modeling: bow-string physics computed as a live acoustic event across the violin’s full four-string range

The Violin’s Acoustic Identity
The violin reached its acoustic maturity in the Cremonese workshops of the 16th and 17th centuries and has remained essentially unchanged since. Its position at the top of the string family gives it a carrying power disproportionate to its physical size, the result of bow-string physics where controlled contact point, bow speed, and pressure produce a tone rich in upper harmonics that cuts through even a large ensemble. In GeoShred Studio, that continuous physical interaction is modeled in real time, so the instrument responds directly to gesture across its full dynamic range.
GeoShred Studio and GeoShred Control
GeoShred Studio is moForte’s professional desktop instrument platform, running as a VST3, AU, or AUv3 plugin or standalone application. It is compatible with GeoShred Control (see below) displaying an isomorphic performance surface tuned in perfect fourths that enables natural melodic and chromatic movement across the violin’s range. GeoShred Studio supports all MIDI controllers and MPE devices. Wind and breath controllers offer more control and responsiveness to the instrument and connect directly to GeoShred Studio.
GeoShred Control is a free iOS app that pairs with GeoShred Studio over USB, delivering a multi-touch surface using iPhone or iPad for live performance alongside hardware controllers.
GeoShred Studio Required. GeoViolin runs inside GeoShred Studio. A GeoShred Studio license is included with purchase for customers who do not already have one. Existing GeoShred Studio owners can use their current license to run GeoViolin.
