Sound with History

The B-flat flugelhorn belongs to the family of bowed horns like the euphonium or (contra)bass tuba, although it looks more like a larger trumpet. The name comes from the 18th century "flugelmaster", who used the instrument to coordinate regimental flanks in battles.

Beyond its use in military and marching bands, the velvety and rich sound of the flugelhorn lends a special warmth and smoothness to melodic lines - ideal for jazz and the dynamic, improvisational style of this genre.

Versatile and expressive

This library offers a complete set of expressive and dynamic articulations: short and long notes, legato (including fast legato), crescendos and decrescendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, and half and whole tone trills. Thanks to the dry recording in the Silent Stage, the sounds can be precisely placed virtually in the stereo panorama and in any room. In addition, the internal convolution reverb with impulses from Stage A of the Vienna Synchron Stage enables the instruments placed there to sound perfectly together with those of the Synchron Series.
