Expressive bass frequencies

The bass trumpet was developed in the 19th century and used by composers such as Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Igor Stravinsky and Leoš Janáček, all of whom used its unique tonal characteristics to great effect. In the 20th century, this instrument was rediscovered, most notably by the Viennese composer Friedrich Cerha, who used it in his works. In the low register, the bass trumpet sounds similar to the tenor trombone, but lacks its warmth and fullness. Despite this, or perhaps precisely because of this, its sound is exceptionally powerful.

Versatile and expressive

This library offers a complete set of expressive and dynamic articulations: short and long notes, legato (including fast legato), crescendos and decrescendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, and half and whole tone trills. Thanks to the dry recording in the Silent Stage, the sounds can be precisely placed virtually in the stereo panorama and in any room. In addition, the internal convolution reverb with impulses from Stage A of the Vienna Synchron Stage enables the instruments placed there to sound perfectly together with those of the Synchron Series.
