Metallic tuned & untuned percussion for Kontact

Rust 4 explores the remnants of Knightsen's 150-year history at the East Contra Costa Historical Society's Agricultural Museum in California. Extensive samples of artifacts, including old farm equipment and pioneer-era antiques, were recorded using specialized studio equipment. The shots, which range from bullet, stick, felt and metal hammer blows, include various objects such as horse-drawn plows, harvesters, combine harvesters and a 40-foot-tall windmill.

The sounds were recorded using high-quality equipment, including large diaphragm, mid-side pairs and stereo contact microphone arrays, capturing nuances of indoor and outdoor environments. The curated content is presented in a multi-layered sound designer interface that offers playable instruments and effect banks categorized by object, style, sound and sonic character. Rust 4 offers a wide range of sounds, ranging from delicate to brutal, from resonant to rough and dark, suitable for both hard-hitting percussion ensembles and melodically tuned solo percussion instruments.

The full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt version 6.2.2+ is required to use .nki instrument presets included in this library. The free Kontakt "Player" and "Add Library" import process does not support this standard open-format Kontakt library. Windows 7 or higher. Mac OSX 10.12 or higher. Dual Core CPU, 2 GB System Ram, SATA or SSD hard drive recommended for this library.
