BIG BANG ORCHESTRA CAPRICORN
Big Bang Orchestra: Capricorn Symphonic Riffs
With the symphonic riffs contained in Big Bang Orchestra: Capricorn, the Vienna Symphonic Library is expanding the concept of tutti orchestral recordings and creating new tools for extremely fast composing and modern production. The riffs and phrases were recorded in a captivating manner by the entire Synchron Stage Orchestra, led by the composer, orchestrator and chief conductor of the Synchron Stage Vienna, Johannes Vogel. He also composed the 4-bar phrases that are available with BBO: Capricorn for hundreds of possible combinations and variations and open up unprecedented production possibilities - from tense ostinati to scary marches to epic staccati for chases.
All phrases were orchestrated in the style of modern film music, with driving rhythms and the powerful sound of a large symphony orchestra, which you can hear the routine of years of film music recordings for film studios in Hollywood and around the world. The different phrases are each available in three orchestration variants and can be called up and combined with simple keyswitches:
- Main themes cover the orchestra's entire spectrum of sounds
- Low riffs are played by the lower registers of the strings, wood and brass
- High riffs are played by the higher registers of the strings, wood and brass
All phrases are available in tempos 120, 130 and 140 and on the fundamental tones of up to two octaves. So not only main riffs with low riffs and high riffs of different phrase categories, but also different fundamental tones can be combined with each other! The large number of microphone positions that are individually available in the mixer of the synchronous player, and the associated sound intervention options, also result in further variation options that invite creative experimentation.
With mixer presets such as "War Fanfare" or "String is King" you can highlight individual groups in the orchestra. "Room Mixes" are CPU and RAM-saving stereo mixes by combining the signals of the Decca tree and the surround microphones, with which you can start immediately "out of the box". Other mixer presets come up with a combination of individual microphone signals that are on separate mixer channels and can be changed as desired. These include B. "Stereo Decca Tree" and "Surround to Stereo" - the latter adds the signals of the surround microphones to the stereo output of the synchronous player in order to achieve a denser, richer overall sound. The “Surround” presets can be used in actual 3D audio setups, e.g. B. Dolby Atmos or Auro 3D. In the “Processed” category you will find mixer settings with names such as “Close Big”, “Wide Big”, “Ambient Big”, “Massive”, “Lush”, “Vintage Tape” and many more. All mixer presets were masterfully created by Bernd Mazagg, Chief Recording Engineer at Synchron Stage Vienna.
It goes without saying that the sound of the Symphonic Riffs is perfectly matched to all other Big Bang Orchestra products and it is precisely with their combination that they develop their full power. It has never been so easy and efficient to create orchestra mock-ups with this liveliness, naturalness and power in the shortest possible time!

Vienna Instruments and software require a ViennaKey !
The USB dongle from eLicenser (Steinberg compatible) is not included in the Vienna Instruments, but must be purchased separately. So you have to order at least one ViennaKey or Steinberg eLicenser together with your first VSL product. Each ViennaKey can store up to 100 product licenses.
You also need an internet connection on any computer to authorize a ViennaKey.
