BBO: Black Eye is the second in a series of tutti orchestra packages for the Big Bang Orchestra. It expands the series with fully orchestrated phrases and effects for modern, effect-emphasized composing, with which you can pull large instrumentations and equally large sounds out of your hat easily, quickly and effortlessly.
Black Eye offers you new and innovative musical elements, such as hits, runs, constantly changing sustains, tension clusters, aleatoric rhythms, arpeggios as well as grace notes and echo effects with various delays and much more - played by a large 70-piece orchestra in the Synchron Stage Vienna.
From floating spherical to rhythmic textures
BBO: Black Eye contains hundreds of tension-laden clusters in several dynamic levels, played short and long, with and without marcato and as short and long crescendos. Sustained notes are grouped into a variety of categories - some vary either due to fluctuations in intonation, e.g. B. performed in opposite directions by the various instruments, or slowly striving towards a target tone (or vice versa). Others do not change the pitch, but the volume of the orchestral groups in opposite directions, so that there is a fascinating interplay of timbres while the overall volume remains the same.
A kind of "seagull effect" ("Seagull Arpeggio") is created by flageolet glissandi on the open strings of the strings, with the winds accompanying them through composed arpeggios that follow the overtone series of the strings.
In the so-called “Shuffled Sustains”, the different orchestral groups play opposing rhythmic patterns that ensure controlled chaos. Due to the complex source material, the effect can be used independently of the tempo. B. with film music for an excited compression.
The “Graced” patch offers a special effect for dramatic accents, in which the instruments of the high register play towards a target tone that is forced by the entire orchestra with a powerful marcato-staccato. The “Staccato-Sordino Sustains”, in which the fortississimo played staccato hits of the low brass end in a soft, muted high note of the strings, also provide a special goosebumps feeling. Various echo effects round off the hit category.
Of course, there are a large number of "standard" orchestral hits for all major, minor, open and diminished chords, octave suggestions, octave trills and runs in breathtaking tempos, in which the instruments in the lowest register in particular consciously adapt to theirs Performance limits were brought.
