A Fun and Magical Sounding Instrument For Kontakt

The Alto Glockenspiel is a tuned percussion library featuring a compact 25-key alto glockenspiel, commonly used in student orchestras. Its natural range is A4–A6, but we’ve extended it dramatically from A-1 to G8 for extreme low and high notes. The instrument was recorded with three articulations - hard mallet, soft mallet, and choked - each with multiple velocity layers and round-robin variation for realistic, expressive playability. A classic children’s toy glockenspiel is also included as a bonus.

Recording positions include a close, dry stereo setup and a far, wide cathedral perspective, giving you two distinct tonal characters. Articulations and mic positions can be loaded and controlled independently, allowing flexible layering and sound shaping. Intuitive UI controls let you adjust attack, release, swell, tuning, vibrato, tightness, articulation selection, and an optional sub-synth layer, plus a built-in arpeggiator and auto-roll system.

The library includes Kontakt’s onboard multi-effects, a selection of convolution reverbs, and a set of sound-designed ambiences and FX presets for cinematic scoring and sound design. A modular FX rack with 27 DSP effects - assignable across eight slots in any order - rounds out the interface, offering tools like delay, distortion, modulation, compression, EQ, amp and cab sims, and more.
