When recording the trumpet in B flat with mute, Alfred (Freddy) Staudigl once again proved himself to be an experienced master of his field, who expanded the classic European sound style with more intense vibrato, portamento, as well as “bends” and “falls” without the usual high leave aesthetic level.

The single instrument contains the same articulations as the trumpet in Bb, but here all samples were recorded with a classic “straight mute” damper. Its typically thin, somewhat nasal sound can not only be combined well with woodwinds or string ensembles, but is also ideal for lyrical-melodic solo passages.
