This library brings the natural horns from the VI Historic Winds III Collection to the large hall (Stage A) of the Synchron Stage Vienna. They have been redesigned and optimized for the Vienna Synchron Player with regard to flexibility, balance and user-friendliness in order to enable rapid and creative work.

The natural horn is the forerunner of the modern horn and has neither finger holes nor valves or keys. Only natural tones can be produced according to the natural tones series by different lip tension on the funnel-shaped mouthpiece. Through the approach and the technique of the stopper - the hand is inserted into the bell at different angles and depths - intermediate tones can also be produced or the intonation of impure tones of the natural tone series can be balanced. In order to be able to play natural scales on different fundamentals, different tuning bows are used. For each key there is a correspondingly short or long bow that has to be exchanged on the horn. Composers had to allow the player adequate time to change the tuning crooks. Due to the increasingly chromatic literature, the natural horn became obsolete at the end of the 19th century. detached from the valve horn. Compared to the modern valve horn, the natural horn places far greater demands on the player. However, the effort is rewarded by the unique, particularly noble sound. This virtual instrument lets you take full advantage of the natural horn's tonal benefits without worrying about the technical challenges.

In order to ensure the greatest possible tonal flexibility, the natural horn was sampled with ten different voice arcs (low Bb, high Bb, low C, high C, D, Eb, E, F, G and A). The soloist was Marcus Schmidinger, who has already recorded all the horn instruments from the VI Brass I and Brass II collections and also participated in the Dimension Brass series. In addition to the standard playing styles and legato performances, the Collection also offers crescendi and diminuendi of different durations, fast repetitions and flutter tongue articulations.

With the convolution reverb integrated into the Vienna Synchron Player, the relatively dry recorded instruments are optimally placed in the 540 m² Stage A of the Synchron Stage Vienna. The tailor-made mixer presets deliver out-of-the-box spatial sound and are a perfect match for the instruments in the SYNCHRON-ized Woodwinds Collection as well as all other products in the Synchron Series .
