EKX Mellotoon - Mellotron model M400 - a whole orchestra in one instrument

15 individual individual instruments, all sampled with great attention to detail from the legendary Mellotron keyboard - the original that shaped countless hits by bands such as The Beatles, The Moody Blues and King Crimson.

The Mellotoon EKX is based on the original Mellotron keyboard introduced in the early 1960's. This instrument was unique and the first of its kind, as it used samples of various real instruments to generate sound. Of course, no modern digital sampler was used here, the sounds of the mellotron came from magnetic tape loops that were played inside. Different sounds of pianos, strings, flutes and wind instruments were available - so to speak, the first and early "band-in-a-box" and thus a true sound revolution. Today, this jewel in the history of the instrument is experiencing an impressive resurrection in productions of the most diverse genres.

The Mellotoon EKX Soundlibrary extension for EZkeys 2 makes the sonic essence of this truly unique instrument available and offers a total of 15 different individual instruments, all sampled in great detail from an original model M400 Mellotron (direct signals, amp signals and mix). In addition, the Mellotoon EKX includes a large selection of individual effects and presets for various signal chains - with which the inspiring instruments can be transformed into completely new and fascinating sounds in no time at all.

Please note : This EZkeys 2 sound library extension is a so-called "Legacy EKX" as it was originally recorded as a former EZkeys 1 sound library. In contrast to the sound library extensions produced exclusively for EZkeys 2, a "Legacy EKX" can be loaded and used both in the previous version EZkeys 1 and in the current version EZkeys 2. Users who still only use EZkeys 1 and do not want to switch to EZkeys 2 can still easily expand their existing EZkeys 1 with "Legacy EKXs".

• The sounds of this EKX are already mix-ready. By selecting one of the 24 presets included, the sound can be perfectly integrated into any mix using just a few parameters.

• The included mix presets offer complex FX processing through a preconfigured combination of various effect modules from Overloud (EQ, compression, reverb, delay, modulation, distortion, etc.)

• Outstanding dynamic response of the tones for the most authentic playing feel

• Natural resonance of the resonating strings is mapped using own real samples

• Download requires approximately 540 MB hard drive space
