5 Adams Artist Alpha Timpani

Synchron Timpani I is dedicated to the five Adams Artist Alpha Timpani (20", 23", 26", 29" and 32" sizes) included in the Synchron Percussion I Collection.

The sound of these instruments mixes well with other groups of instruments in the orchestra. Think of the common combination of timpani and majestic brass fanfares that has its roots in the story, or tremulous strings over a timpani roll when it comes to creating dramatic and suspenseful effects.

5 instruments - 12 microphones

All instruments were recorded with 12 microphones. You can choose between four microphone positions (Standard Library) or seven different microphone positions (Full Library) and mix them at will in the Vienna Instruments or Vienna Instruments Pro player as well as in the Vienna Ensemble or Vienna Ensemble Pro mixing hosts.

The supplied presets of balanced microphone mixes serve as the perfect starting point for your own creations. The natural spatial sound of Stage A was captured with a Decca tree in stereo, further microphone settings allow 5.1 and even Auro 3D playback in 9.1.

Flexible sound design

The natural volume behavior and the sound character of the instruments was retained both during recording and editing. You can shape the sound to your liking in the Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro player, as well as in the Vienna Ensemble and Vienna Ensemble Pro mixing hosts. The supplied presets already offer a finely tuned source material for this.
