The Vienna Symphonic Library introduces a groundbreaking virtual instrument: the Synchron Solo Violin. Captured in the exceptional acoustics of Synchron Stage Vienna's large hall, this instrument combines musical excellence, emotional depth, and technical precision to deliver authentic and captivating performances.
Performed by Marina Dimitrova, the concertmaster of the Synchron Stage Orchestra, the Synchron Solo Violin showcases her extensive experience with ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. Dimitrova, a graduate of institutions in Sofia, London, and Vienna, regularly performs with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and at festivals like Salzburg and Wien Modern.
Creating a solo strings virtual instrument is a significant challenge, requiring the capture of an instrument’s full expressive complexity while ensuring ease of use. The quality of a library hinges on the musicians' expertise. The Vienna team has perfected the recording process, balancing guidance and creative freedom for musicians, who bring vast experience in both scoring recordings and sampling.
Marina Dimitrova's dedication in extensive sampling sessions at Synchron Stage Vienna resulted in a rich array of articulations. These include various spiccatos, staccatos, vibrato styles, legato variants, and playing techniques such as tremolos, trills, and pizzicatos, offering a wide palette of expressive possibilities.
To complement these capabilities, the Synchron Player features a new Crossfade Editor for seamless blending of articulations and a Sequence Controller for automated articulation switching. These tools, along with customizable presets, enhance the instrument's versatility, allowing for personalized and inspiring musical expression.
