The Voice of Jazz

With its muted tones, the B-flat trumpet is a favorite of jazz musicians. Its lyrical and intimate sound perfectly enriches the emotional musical storytelling of the genre. Miles Davis, for example, used a muted B-flat trumpet impressively. But its adaptive character also shines in an orchestral or cinematic context, as its thin, slightly "nasal" tone combines excellently with woodwind and string ensembles.
