MIR 3D RoomPack 6 – Synchron Stage Vienna

MIR 3D RoomPack 6 includes impulse recordings from Vienna Symphonic Library's own scoring stage Synchron Stage Vienna.

The historic building was built in the 1940s on the grounds of the Rosenhügel film studios as part of "Vienna's Film City". In the large hall (Stage A), which offers enough space for an orchestra of up to 130 musicians, up to ten film scores per year were recorded until 1955. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, well-known conductors and soloists such as Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan, Yehudi Menuhin, Swjatoslaw Richter and Mstislav Rostropowitsch used the "Synchronhalle" for their now legendary recordings in the 1960s. In the summer of 2013, the Vienna Symphonic Library took over the building and renovated it together with the well-known Walters-Storyk Design Group and the architects Schneider+Schumacher. Already in the first year of operation, music was recorded for a number of film and TV productions such as Inferno, The Crown,

Synchronous Stage Vienna - Stage A

The 540 m2 reception hall (Stage A) has a trapezoidal floor plan and a height of 10.5 m to 12 m. The massive room-in-room construction on separate foundations, in connection with the high level of sound insulation, is impressive even when the air conditioning is in full operation an extremely low noise floor of only 16 dBA. The reverberation time of 1.6 to 1.8 seconds is particularly short in the low frequencies, which means that there is no masking effect as in other halls of this size. The sound character of the room is warm and wide, with good localization of the signals in the stereo image and in the depth.

By integrating MIR 3D RoomPack 6, Vienna MIR Pro 3D offers the unique and lively acoustics of this hall using two typical microphone positions from two directions - for orchestra configurations in a transverse or longitudinal direction. A total of 6,000 impulse responses are available in order to reproduce the main hall of the Synchron Stage Vienna as authentically as possible in its entirety.
