MIR 3D RoomPack 4 – The Sage Gateshead

MIR 3D RoomPack 4 is dedicated to "The Sage Gateshead", England's striking building in the immediate vicinity of Newcastle and its outstanding acoustics. The domed glass and stainless steel building, with its distinctive sloping roof, opened in 2004 as a music and music education center and conference and events venue. The three halls were designed as separate, autonomous buildings and shielded in such a way that no transmission of noise and vibrations takes place during simultaneous performances. In addition, the large hall was equipped with variable acoustics: The sound profile of the hall can be adapted to the respective occupation and style at any time by means of movable ceiling panels. A particularly “spongy” concrete mixture was used for the construction,

Hall 1

This large hall boasts an impressive auditorium clad in wood panelling, which contributes much to its outstanding acoustics. With a capacity of 1,640 seats, it meets the highest international standards and was designed as an acoustically perfect space based on the ideal of the Wiener Musikverein.

Movable ceiling panels, which can be raised or lowered as required, and side curtains along the wooden walls allow the sound profile to be adapted to any conceivable instrumentation and style - from recitals to chamber music to a large symphony orchestra, from folk, jazz, pop/rock to world Music.

Vienna MIR Pro 3D reproduces the acoustically outstanding hall with four different microphone positions: one from the stage, two in the auditorium and one on the first balcony at the back of the hall. Instruments and other signal sources can even be placed on the second balcony. In total, the hall was captured with almost 6,700 impulse responses.

Hall 2

Hall 2 is a theater space with a particularly distinctive and unique 10-sided outline. With a capacity of 400 spectators and a rather informal and intimate character, it offers the ideal ambience for smaller ensembles, bands or soloists. The theater evokes the energetic atmosphere of a stage in Shakespeare's day with two balconies that stretch across the entire stage and auditorium. The reverberation time of the room can be changed significantly by remotely controllable wall panels, which can also be easily simulated in Vienna MIR Pro 3D with the reverb scaling function.

Vienna MIR Pro 3D depicts this unique space with four different microphone positions: one from the stage, two in the auditorium, and one at the back, about six meters above the ground floor on the second balcony. A total of over 2,400 impulse responses were captured for this purpose.

Northern Rock Foundation Hall

This modern hall, with its intricately designed cladding of vertically arranged wooden panels and its good sound insulation, serves primarily as a rehearsal space for the Northern Sinfonia, the symphony orchestra of The Sage Gateshead. The room offers a very homogeneous, brilliant reverberation while maintaining a good sonic representation of depth and localization. The end of the reverberation can be significantly changed by wall paneling and motorized curtains, which can be easily simulated in Vienna MIR Pro 3D with the reverb scaling function.

Vienna MIR Pro 3D maps the Northern Rock Foundation Hall from corner to corner from two different perspectives with four different microphone positions. Due to the lack of separation between the stage and the auditorium, there are no restrictions on the placement of instruments or signal sources in the room. Over 5,700 impulse responses were recorded to map the entire room.

This product requires activation!

This can either be done on your computer (without additional hardware) or alternatively on an iLok USB dongle that can be purchased separately . The iLok USB dongle can be plugged into any computer in order to use the protected software on several computers. Your licenses can be managed as you like using the iLok License Manager and protected against loss or theft by additional insurance ( Zero Downtime with TLC ).

To activate the product you need an Internet connection on any computer and a free user account on www.ilok.com . Use the Vienna Assistant to download and install your software products and sample libraries authorized via iLok  .

Please check with the software manufacturer which iLok version is required as a minimum if you want to use a hardware iLok!
