STUDIO ALTO TROMBONE
Studio Alto Trombone - Clarity & Elegance
The alto trombone expands the VSL trombone family by adding the highest register, thus completing the spectrum of four different trombone tunings. The bright and clear sound of the alto trombone is unique within the brass family and is ideal for setting counterpoints in harmonic passages. Recorded dry and in its purest form in the Silent Stage with its precise and controlled acoustics, this instrument radiates a particularly clear and brilliant tone.

A composer's favorite
Although it was particularly popular in the Baroque and Classical periods, the alto trombone has become increasingly popular in subsequent eras due to its expressiveness. Composers such as Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy used this instrument in their works, as did Benjamin Britten - a testament to its versatility and adaptability. The unique sound of the alto trombone was also particularly popular with Viennese composers of the 19th century. Now this digital reissue of the alto trombone - direct from the music city of Vienna - will inspire you too with its melodic qualities and clear tone.
Versatile and expressive
This library offers a complete set of expressive and dynamic articulations: short and long notes, legato (including fast legato), crescendos and decrescendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, and half and whole tone trills. Thanks to the dry recording in the Silent Stage, the sounds can be precisely placed virtually in the stereo panorama and in any room. In addition, the internal convolution reverb with impulses from Stage A of the Vienna Synchron Stage enables the instruments placed there to sound perfectly together with those of the Synchron Series.
