BIT - a journey through time of sound
BIT Back In Time is unlike previous Rob Papen synthesizers, instead of combining analog modeling with hybrid synthesis, BIT focuses on analog modeled synthesis.
This classic analog style of synthesis has its own charm, hence there are no spectral waveforms or samples within BIT. It is pure 'Analog Modelled' synthesis.
BIT is modular! The modulation matrix is used for patching, but an intelligent "Advanced" panel below the oscillators is also included. These advanced features (accessed by toggling the ADV switch) allow you to quickly make multiple connections like LFO and Envelope to the oscillator parameters within BIT.
There are possibilities for Oscillator 2 to be modulated by Oscillator 1 in various ways, expanding the sonic palette to include phase modulation, frequency modulation and ring modulation. The arpeggiator also works in sequencer mode, giving you a full-featured arp that has an extra free row to modulate other parts of BIT using the modulation matrix.
